Jennifer volunteered for a Montgomery County (Maryland) program that provided tutoring to lower income families. Jennifer was challenged by changing a student’s ability to succeed academically.

Jennifer works with students (and adults) with ADD, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Autism Spectrum, and Executive Function diagnoses. She works with each student in the manner that he/she/they learns best incorporating the student’s input and interests. Jennifer facilitates a discussion between the parent(s) and student ensuring all parties agree on achievable objectives.

Jennifer strives to help middle and high school students improve reading comprehension and writing skills to affect higher proficiency and grades in their classes. She also teaches organization and time management skills for school projects and daily homework assignments in addition to study skills to affect a lower stress level with assignment due dates. She helps students write college personal statements and supplemental essays.

Jennifer teaches students the dSAT, ACT, and HSPT test format and content for the English and Science (ACT) portions to include vocabulary/etymons, reading comprehension, and grammar, punctuation, and word usage identification and correction.

Jennifer worked as a Substitute Teacher for the Montgomery County Public School system for seven years. She worked with grades Kindergarten through Third, Reading and Special Education.
